10 Rhode Lads in Offaly's Panel

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto for the week ending 26th of May for a Jackpot of €13,200. The numbers drawn were 7 14 23 27. The club like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to O’Toole’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation. The following matched three numbers and received €50

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website. The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on. In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!

The best of luck to Offaly Senior football team and management team who on Saturday evening will play Kildare in the Quarter-Final of the Leinster senior football championship. The game starts at 5pm and is followed by Dublin v Westmeath at 7pm. On the team and panel from Rhode are Shane Sullivan, Brian Darby, Alan McNamee, Niall Darby, Anton Sullivan, Niall McNamee who captains the side. On the extended panel are Eoin Rigney, Paul McPadden, James McPadden and Stephen Hannon.

Rhode Senior footballers gained their 13th point in this year’s league when they recorded a 4-15 to 0-8 win over Walsh-Island on Thursday night.

The Rhode GAA Club celebrates 125 years on Sunday the schedule is as follows:
The day begins in Rhode church with mass for the deceased members of the club. There will be a parade from Killeen’s Car Park to Fr. Dowling Park starting at 12noon. The parade will be led by the club’s All-Ireland medals winners. All teams from Under 8 to Senior will be marching along with former players, officials and members, the parade will also include Rhode Ladies football team and officials and members of Fahy Handball Club. At Fr. Dowling Park the raising of the 125th anniversary flag will be raised at the clubs dressing rooms by a player to be unveiled. There will be then be a game for the Under 8 to Under 12 with boys and girls.
The Presentation of the championship winning medals for Senior, Under 21 and Division 1 League will take place on Sunday night in Killeen’s Lounge. The presentation will be made by a special guest. The meal which is sit down will commence at 8pm, doors open at 7.30pm. Admission is by ticket only and are reasonable priced at €15 there will also be music on the night till late. Those wishing to purchase tickets can do so by contacting any of the follows.
