Wednesday Sept 16th 8pm Inter footballers v Garristown  in Garristown. Great win for the lads. A result like this can only lift their confidence and set them up for a good run for the last few matches this year and give them something to build on for next season.

U.16 Football league V Round Towers. After the disappointment of losing to Towers last week in championship hurling, the lads pulled off a great victory winning 4-6 to 2-9. Reports from game suggesting some great tactical moves and changes suggested by the former senior manager Peter Fitzgerald swung the game in our favor.

Minor Hurling Championship V Na Fianna.  Well beaten in this game and it’s a long time we believe that so many could play so bad on the day but a win against St Judes and Na Fianna to beat St Vincents could possibly see us through to the next stage.

Comogie Senior B Shield Championship V Kilmacud Crokes. Lost by 5 points but by all reports, a gallant display which we could have won with a bit of luck even though we played with 5 U/15 players due to some seniors not being available.

Fixtures: 21th to 27th September

And Finally

Joke of the week

One winter morning a husband and wife in a Scottish Town were listening to the radio during breakfast. They heard the announcer say, ‘We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snowploughs can get through.’

So the good wife went out and moved her car.

A week later while they are eating breakfast again, the radio announcer said, ‘We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snowploughs can get through.’

The good wife went out and moved her car again.

The next week they are again having breakfast, when the radio announcer says, ‘We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park….’ Then the electric power went out. The good wife was very upset, and with a worried look on her face she said, ‘Honey, I don’t know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snowploughs can get through?’

With the love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married to blonde’s exhibit, the husband replied, ‘Why don’t you just leave it in the garage this time?
