Senior Football
We began our 2009 Senior League away to Kilkerrin-Clonberne on Sunday, and we were beaten by three points, 2-11 to 2-8. Playing with help of the breeze in the first half, we started well, and with goals from Mathias Coleman and Ger Rafftery, we lead at the break by 2-6 to 0-5. Our other scorers in that half were Michael Melia three points, Brendan Dooley two, and one from Frankie Burke. We played good first time open football, and we created good scoring chances, as five of our forwards scored in the first half, but the second half was a different story as we could only raise two white flags. Kilkerrin-Clonberne showed a big improvement with the breeze, and were more direct on the ball, as we lost our way in trying to over carry the ball, unlike the first half when we kicked first time and got all our forwards involved.
Team: P O Neill, M O Neill, A Fitzpatrick, S Collier, A Pender, F Doherty, D Burke, W Fallon, N Coleman, M Melia, P.J.Fahy, M Coleman, F Burke, B Dooley, G Rafftery. Subs used B Qualter, J Farragher and M Newell.

Annaghdown Ladies GAA
Our Junior Ladies team had a great win in the league last Sunday in Cregg against a very strong Lettermore side. Lettermore got off to the stronger start, playing against the wind, but slowly our girls came into it and after taking some excellent scores ,they led at half time. In the second half, our defence were under extreme pressure, but each player coped with this, playing great ball into our forwards, who scored at each opportunity. At the end, a win was what each girl deserved after all the effort they put in over the 60 minutes. Thank you to all the supporters who came out to support this young and growing team. Training continues every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 in Cregg. All players welcome.
U12 training on Wednesday evening at 7 in Cregg. All new players welcome.
