Senior Football
We drew our second senior league game on Friday evening in Barna when Ger Rafftery pointed in the last minute to give us a share of the spoils, we had a chance in injury time of victory but we took the wrong option and had to settle for 0-12 to 1-9 draw.  The home team were first to score when Pat Fallon pointed but we had the next four points from Ger Rafftery, Johnny Murphy (0-2) and Frankie Burke to give us a three point lead on twelve minutes. Frankie added another point four minutes later; Damien Burke and Frankie added a point each to give us a point lead at the break 0-7 to 0-6.  Damien Burke had the first score of the second half on three minutes with Barna adding another on five minutes but Anthony Pender and Rafftery increased our lead to 0-10 to 0-7 on ten minutes, a minute later Barna goaled to leave it all square but Ger Rafftery edged us one ahead mid way through the half.  Barna had the next two points to lead as we entered the last five minutes but Rafftery pointed to tie the game and we now have two league points from as many games. With our championship only a few weeks away we will have to make a big improvement in defence as we gave away a number of easy frees in scoring positions in both our league games to date and up front we are very casual in our approach and give away position easy.
Our team was: Declan Walsh, Benny Newell, Adrian Fitzpatrick, Pa Burke, Anthony Pender, Shane Collier, Fergal Doherty, Alan Kavanagh, Niall Coleman, Brian Qualter, D Burke, PJ Fahy, Ger Rafftery, Johnny Murphy, Frankie Burke. Sub Brian O’Dowd for Ger Rafftery

On Sunday in Kilconly we were beaten in the Intermediate league by three points 2-12 to 2-9 in a game that the strong breeze towards to road goal dominated the scoring feats, We played against that breeze in the opening half and trailed at the break 0-3 to 2-9 with our points coming from Alan Kavanagh (0.1) and Ger Raftery (0.2). We scored 2.3 in the first ten minutes of the second half with Michael Melia scoring 1-3 and Morgan Duggan scoring the second goal but the winners had the next three scores to lead by 2-12 to 2-6 with five minutes remaining but points from Raftery, Melia and Brian O’Dowd closed the gap to three points as the final whistle sounded.
