Annaghdown GAA Club News 5th Sept 07

This week’s lotto numbers were 1, 7, 23 & 25 there was no jackpot and we had five match three: Mary Cunningham Kilgill, Una Coen Kilcahill, Mary Geraghty Carraghy, Delia Canavan Carraghy and Teresa Scully Clonboo. Una Coen won the promoters prize and next weeks jackpot is € 8500 with the draw on Monday night in the Club House.
Our Minor Football team were beaten by Monivea-Abbey in the championship last Wednesday by 0-16 to 0-11 we trailed at the break by two points 0.7 to 0.5 with our scores coming from Joseph Farragher 0.5, Stephen Kerr 0.2, Ciaran Duggan 0.2, and a point each from Martin Scully and Enda Mularkey
We are holding their AM-AM golf event on Saturday, 16th September 2007, in Ballinrobe Golf Club. This event is a key fundraiser for Annaghdown GAA Club, as the costs of fielding ten adult and twenty juvenile football and hurling teams continue to challenge our financial resources. To enter a team of four it will cost €150 and to sponsor a tee box is €100 and team and tee box is €200 for more information contact any committee member
Our ticket allocation for the All Football final will be distributed to members on Wednesday Sept 12 at 8.30 before our monthly meeting, Application for tickets in writing to our secretary Noel Kinneen Mace Corrandulla by Sept 7th.
Our Senior Football team play Milltown in the championship quarter final in Tuam Stadium on Sunday at 5.30 and we hope for the usual big parish support
Ladies Football
Our Senior Ladies exited the Championship last Monday evening when they were beaten by Killanin. Although players like Nicky Burke and Mary Kate Killilea to name but a couple showed great spirit but the better team won on the evening! They have a couple of League matches yet to play so we wish them better luck in those.

The U10’s play Dunmore in Cregg on Wednesday evening and they play in the Semi-Final on Saturday afternoon next in Claregalway. We wish Collette and all her assistants every success.

U16’s semi-final should be scheduled for next week so a full attendance at training please

U14’s Championship will be commencing in the next week or so.
