Arrowsmith Ready to "Sink Teeth" Into Promotion Role

November 8, 2018

Dundalk Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Dean Arrowsmith as Promotion Officer, with the young man ready to “sink his teeth” into the role.

Arrowsmith first arrived at the club back in January 2008, and soon helped then Promotion Officer Paul Johnston to re-establish the Schools Programme.

The 22-year-old was appointed Community Coach the following year, at the same time enjoying a coaching role at Cootehill Harps.

In the summer of 2009, he left Dundalk to go to the United States to work with MLS club Chicago Fire for six months, before he returned to Oriel Park.

He spent the last two seasons under Ian Foster while continuing his Community Coach work, and had another spell in the States last year.

Last year, after the announcement that the FAI would no longer part-fund the Promotion Officer programme, Johnston was moved into the role of General Manager at Oriel Park.

And now Arrowsmith is looking forward to continuing on the great work done by Johnston.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be appointed to the position of Club Promotion Officer,” Arrowsmith, who is currently on his UEFA B-Licence course, told dundalkfc.com.

“It’s hard to believe but I’m at the start of my fifth year involved with the club. I’ve always been hoping that a job like this would come up, and I’ve always been gearing up for it if the chance did arise.

“I know it’s an old cliché to say it’s a dream job, but it’s something I really want to do and I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into it.”
