Archdiocese Pilgrimage to Lourdes:   Recently, Joe Walsh Tours have launched the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly’s Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2013.  This pilgrimage will take place from June 16th to 21st with a full inclusive price of €699.  Booking forms for the Pilgrim section are now available from Joe Walsh Tours on 01 2410811.  Enquires to Fr. Heart to Hand:   We are holding our usual Lenten Food Collection again this year.  The need for food is greater than ever.  We are appealing for toothpaste/soap next weekend.  Collection boxes will be in the church porches in Ballina and Boher.

Recently Deceased:   We ask you to remember in your prayers the soul of Patricia Carroll, Coolbawn, whose funeral took place in Ballina Church recently.  Sympathies to her family, Frances, Ger, Elizabeth and Claire.  May she rest in peace.

Holy Week Liturgies:   Holy Thursday: Mass of the Lord’s Supper in Ballina and also in Boher at 8pm.  Please return your trocaire box on this day.  Holy hour in Ballina at 11pm.   Good Friday: Solemn Liturgy in Ballina and Boher at 3pm.  Stations of the Cross in both churches at 8pm.  Collection for Holy Places will be taken up at all liturgies.   Holy Saturday: Prayer of the Church followed by Blessing of the Easter Food in Ballina Church at 12 noon.   Liturgy of the Lord’s Resurrection in Ballina and Boher at 9pm.  Confessions in Boher Church from 1pm to 1.30pm.

Thanks for the Christmas Day Swim:   The 2012 Christmas Day Swim in aid of the Clarisford Park project raised €3,705.  Many thanks to all who swam and to all who sponsored the swimmers or gave donations on the day.

Senior Citizens:   The Senior Citizens Committee wish to announce a Two Night Breakaway to Galway Bay Hotel on Sunday, May 19th to Tuesday, May 21st next.  The fare for this is €165 which includes travel, bed and breakfast and evening dinner.  Single supplement is €20 per night.  Further information and booking with a €50 deposit before Saturday, April 6th, from any committee member.

 

U21 Football : Hard luck to our U21 footballers who were beaten last Saturday against a strong Newport/Ballinahinch team in Ballina final score 1/7 to 4points.

 

Well done to Stephen O Brien who played with the u21 Tipperary footballers in their win against Waterford. Next week they play Clare in Thurles.

 

Minor Football: Match against Inane Rovers that was to be played in Roscrea this Wednesday is now cancelled.

 

Tipperary Junior B: hurling league versus Ballinahinch next Saturday March 30th [see match fixtures for details]

 

Intermediate hurling league: We were beaten by Moyne/templetouhy last Wednesday night. Final score 3/15 to 1/9.

 

Membership: All members to be paid before March 31st club officers will be contacting members who have yet to pay. Membership €40 for the year.

  

Tipperary Draw: Please pay remaining subscriptions for the final draws as soon as possible.

 

Ballina GAA Sports Predictors Quiz: Ballina GAA club launched it annual Sports Predictor quiz last week. Entry forms may be downloaded from the club website or may be obtained from the coffe shop Ballina and in other local business outlets.

Entries must be returned before the the start of the English Grand National Saturday April 6th.
