Friday Church Services in Ballina:   After 10am Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed until 5pm. 
Friday, September 13th:   Archbishop Clifford has requested that we make Friday next a Day of Special Prayer for a peaceful resolution to the present crisis is Syria.  Mass in Ballina with exposition at the usual times and Mass in Boher at 7.30pm.  The following prayer may be said daily until Friday: O God, who have revealed that peacemakers are to be called your children, grant, we pray that we may work without ceasing to establish that justice which alone ensures true and lasting peace.  Let us ask Mary to help us to respond to violence, to conflict and to war, with the power of dialogue, reconciliation and love.  She is our Mother, may she help us to find peace.  Help us, Mary, to overcome this most difficult moment and to dedicate ourselves each day to building in every situation an authentic culture of encounter and peace.  Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
Ballina/Killaloe Senior Citizens:   Church Gate collection next weekend.  Your support would be appreciated.
Kilcommon Church marking the Year of Faith:   John Waters and James Kilbane will conduct a special night celebrating the Year of Faith in Kilcommon Church on Tuesday, September 17th at 8pm.  All are welcome.
Church Choir:   Recruiting is now taking place for the new choir in Ballina Church under the direction of Celia Donoghue.  We invite people to volunteer and the first get together will take place in the church on Thursday at 7.30pm.  Remember that all are welcome.

Minor Hurling: Well done to our Minor Hurlers who are through to North Final after their when over Shannon Rover Gaels last Tuesday night in Puckane in a very tough hard game of hurling. They know play Burgess in the final next Sunday 15th at 6M in Nenagh.[see fixtures] Please come out and show your support for the team and club on the night. Best of luck to the team management and players.

Intermediate Handball: Congratulations to David Hickey & Fergal Collins on their win in the All-Ireland Intermediate Handball title defeating Mayo’s Stephen Connery & Ian McLoughlin 21-7,21-20.

Tipperary U16 Hurling: Hard luck to David Kelly and Thomas McGrath who were part of the teams who contested the U16 A and B tournament final, unfortunately losing out to Kilkenny who won the John Doyle Memorial Cup, and losing to Cork in the B tournament. Wishing both boys a speedy recovery from injuries they received in the past two weeks.

U16 Hurlers: Best of luck to u16’s in their North quarter final against Newport Gaels.

Bag packing: Thank you to everyone who helped out with the bag packing in Queally’s Supervalue Killaloe last Friday and Saturday for the development of the new pitch. Well done to Eileen, Brid and Eamonn for organising the event.
