The Priory Institute:   Study Theology from home.  Students attend occasional study days and use on-line support from academic tutors which leads to a certificate or honours degree.  For more information, contact 01 4048124 or www.prioryinstitute.com.

Samaritans:   Samaritans are looking for new volunteers to assist in their service.  An open night will be held on September 5th at 7.30pm in their centre on Barrington’s St., Limerick (which is at the top of O’Connell St.).  All are welcome.

The Lifelong Learning Centre:   Adults, do you need to improve your spelling, reading, writing or beginners computing?  Classes will be held, free of charge, in all areas of North Tipperary in September. Call Mary or Liz in confidence, at the Lifelong Learning Centre, North Tipperary VEC on 067 31845.

Friday Church Services in Ballina:   After 10am Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed until 5pm.  Prayer of the Church and Benediction at 1.05pm.  Why not come along and pray awhile with us?

Senior Citizens of Ballina/Killaloe:   The Annual Pilgrimage to Holycross takes place on Wednesday, August 24th.  A bus leaves Convent Hill at 12 Midday for Mass and Prayers which are due to begin at 2pm.  Dinner and Entertainment will follow at the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh until 8.30pm and the arrival time home is expected to be approx. 9.30pm.  The cost of this pilgrimage is €20 which includes travel and dinner.  Names to any member of the Committee of the Senior Citizen’s of Ballina/Killaloe.

Congratulations:  Well done to Stephen O Brien who gave a splendid display at centre field in Tipperary’s All-Ireland Semi-Final against a determined Roscommon team.  Despite incurring a shoulder injury early in the second half, Stephen managed to finish the game and we all hope he will be fully fit for the final on September 18th.

 

All Ireland Hurling Final:   Tickets for the Hurling Final will be distributed in the Complex next Friday  August 26th at 9.30pm.   As tickets are scarce, a draw among members will be held.  We would appeal to those who require tickets to attend on the night.

 

Fundraiser Draw: This Draw will be held Sunday, August 28th for the two precious All Ireland tickets and an overnight stay in a Dublin hotel.   Tickets can be purchased in most local business outlets or from any officer in the club for just €2.   You could land yourself and a friend this valuable prize!!!

 

Intermediate Hurlers:  The Intermediate team had 4 points to spare in their defeat of Clonakenny in the semi-final of the County league which was played in Dolla on Saturday evening last.  They now await the winners of the other semi-final between Holycross and Newport which will be played next week.
