Bereavement

November 7, 2018

We extend the sympathy of St. Patricks GAA Club to The Moloney Family Drangan on the recent death of former St. Patrick’s player Alfie Moloney. Alfie was a minor footballer in 1952 with St. Patricks and a junior hurler from 1955 to 1959 with St. Patricks. After moving to Mullinahone Alfie also wore the Green and Red of the C.J. Kickham Club.

On his return to Drangan Alfie was a regular attender at St. Patrick’s games and hosted several GAA functions during his time as proprietor of The Four Provinces Bar and Lounge. Alfie’s brother Seamus was a prominent member of several St. Patricks teams and continues to be a hard worker for the club promoting the Co. GAA Draw. Alfie’s daughter Marion was a prominent ladies footballer in her day and granddaughters Olwyn and Camilla Noonan were prominent club and Co. camogie players while T.J. continues to line out with St. Patricks Junior hurling teams. May Alfie rest in peace.
