Borris-in-ossory GAA Club notes

The club held their dinner dance on Friday night in The Heritage Hotel
Portlaoise. The Laois County Board Chairman Brian Allen and his wife
were in attendence on the night. Martin Butler took the job of MC for
the night and must be commended on his hard work and speeches
throughout the night.
Club chairman John Kealy also addressed the crowd and spoke of his
hopes for the club in 2008 and congratulated the Juniors on their
impressive league win. Medals were presented to the hurler’s by
Secretary Canice Sheeran and County board Chairman Brian Allen.
Junior captain Eoin Phelan spoke of the team’s achievment and wished
this years trainer and selector ‘s the best for the forthcoming hurling
year.

On Saturday night, presentation’s were made to the juvenile’s and the
U12’S ffor their great championship win. Their was great attendence to
view the presentation of the medals by Kilkenny hurler Eddie Brennan
and our  own club and county hurler Matthew Whelan, trainers for the
juveniles were complimented on their hard work  and progress for the
year. Eddie Brennan gave an encouraging speech to the young hurler’s.
wishing them the best in the future and telling them to aim high for
both club and county. Chairman John Kealy told of his delight with the
juvenile win and acknowledged the great work of juvenile Secretary
Theresa Whelan and committee.

Both nights were a great success for the club and the attendence at
each was greatly appreciated.
