Bride Rovers G.A.A Club notes for the week

November 8, 2018

Scor na bPaisti.

The East Cork Final of Scor na bPaisti takes place this Saturday evening February 26th. Originally fixed for Watergrasshill the venue is now the Eire Og GAAA Club Pavilion in Ovens. We have competitors in both Recitation and NUachleas sections and we wish all our young  competitors the very best. The final commences at 5pm on Saturday evening.

GAA Social Initiativee

Two years ago President McAleese and her husband Martin approached the GAA with an idea. They felt that a lot of older members of society were living in relative isolation. They proposed an initiative whereby GAA Clubs in parish areas would endeavour to combat this isolation by coming together to help organise different activities for older members of the community. The Bride Rovers Club has formed a subcommittee to come back to the Executive with proposals. The first meeting was held last week and a further meeting will be held in early March.

JFL.

At the time of writing there is no definite JFL fixture finalised but we may have a game v Midleton on Saturday.

Club Executive.

The next Club Executive meeting is on next Monday night in the Clubrooms at 8.30 pm.

Shave or Dye.

The Shave or Dye event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society took place last Saturday night. Several Club members got various hair-raising changes made on the night – the colourful results can be seen for several weeks to come! Well done to all who took part to raise funds for such a good cause. Donations are still being accepted by Club members.

The main Club Sponsor is the Rathcormac Inn.
