Senior Hurling Challenge

It’s a long way to Tipperary and even farther to Cappawhite but that’s where the Senior Hurling team travelled to on Sunday last. We took on the home team in an interesting challenge game. Cappawhite who won the Tipperary Co. SHC in 1987 are in the middle of their divisional Senior Hurling Championship/league campaign at present. The final score was;

Bride Rovers 3-24 Cappawhite 1-13

Panel A Collins D Carr B Walsh D Fitzgerald J Pratt M Kearney P Walsh Brian Murphy Barry Murphy D Dooley P Murphy B Johnson C O Connor B O’Driscoll T Broderick S Hackett G O’Flynn J O Driscoll S O’Brien R Cahill F Hogan.

Our Senior Hurling championship first round game against Carrigtwohill is fixed for Sunday week June 2nd in Ballynoe at 8pm.

County Minor Hurling League

We played our fourth game in the Rebel Og Co MHL at the tank Field in Mayfield on Wednesday of last week when we took on Brian Dillons. In our opening two games we had easy victories over Lisgoold and Cobh but this contest was a much closer affair. Dillons were a very strong side and the game was played out with very little between the teams. In the end we won by a margin of just four points on a scoreline of; Bride Rovers 1-16 Brian Dillons 1-12

Panel S O Connor C O Connor J Buckley S Cotter W Finnegan P Noonan T O Sullivan DJ Cahill D Linehan J O Mahony C Power J Barry C O Grady Cian Howard Colm Howard D Moore.

Our final group game in the League is a home fixture against St. Vincents. This game was fixed recently but Vincent’s were unable to field a team so the game went off. No news yet on a possible re-fixture. We will have a break now from competitive Minor games until after the Exams but training will continue. We wish all our players all the best with their academic endeavours over the next two months.

County Junior B Football Championship

The draws for the next round of the County Junior B Grade Football championship were made recently and we were paired against Araglin. Finalists just three years ago and semi finalists with the last two years Araglin are a top class side. The game has been fixed for Wednesday June the 5th.

JUNIOR HURLING LEAGUE

Our Avondhu/Imokilly Cavanaghs of Fermoy JHL game against Kilshannig which was down for decision on Sunday last but the game was postponed to a later date.
