AGM on Monday Night

The Annual General Meeting of the Bride Rovers GAA Club will be held on Monday December the 10th at 8pm in the Clubrooms. All outgoing members, players and supporters are welcome to attend. The Club is always anxious to see new members joining the Club. New Players are also most welcome. There is a lot of work each year in running a GAA Club. At adult level we field seven teams. The Juvenile Club sees after the minor and juvenile teams and then the Ladies Club caters for Camogie and ladies football. It takes a lot of people to act as selectors, trainers, team mentors, fundraisers as well as personnel to see after our pitches and other facilities. They say ‘many hands make light work’ so there is a role for everybody whether you can give an hour a week or a few hours on a Saturday or maybe an hour once a month at the Car Boot Sale. Volunteers are the heart and soul of GAA Clubs and in Bride Rovers we make everyone welcome. The AGM is a good place to start so hope to see you all on Monday night.

Great Lotto News

Over the year the Club has made a few applications for Capital Grant Aid under the Sports Capital Fund. These were unsuccessful. Earlier this year when further development plans for the Club were fo0rmulated an Application was made under the 2012 Sports Capital Programme. We learned at the weekend that a sum of €80,000 has been allocated to the Club. This is a fantastic boost for the Club, as it will ensure tht further development of facilities will be possible. With growing numbers of players we need extra training space is provided. The Club wish to thank all who lobbied on our behalf to obtain this very welcome grant especially Senator Paul Bradford and the four Cork East TDs, deputies Barry, McLellan, Sherlock and Stanton.
