Senior Hurling on Sept 16th.
Our Senior Hurling Relegation game against Cloyne has been fixed for Sunday fortnight September the 16th but at this stage it is a provisional fixture. Cloyne play Fermoy in the Co Intermediate Football championship this weekend with the winners down to play Cill na Martra the following weekend. If Cloyne are successful in these two games they would be playing the County Semi Final in the Intermediate Football on the 16th and the Senior Hurling game would go back. We have Senior Hurling League games against Sars, the Barrs and County champions Carrigtwohill to play yet. There is a possibility that the Carrig game could be played this weekend but nothing has been definitely fixed at the time of writing.
Minor Football.
Our Minor Football team are fixed to play Ballinora in the championship semi final on Wednesday next September the 5th. The game is fixed for 6.45 but no venue has yet been arranged. Ballinora beat us well in the League in April and are a very strong side. We played well to defeat Cloyne in the Championship quarterfinal but we had a very understrength team on duty last Saturday nigh in the League versus Donoughmore. This game was played in Donoughmore and we were defeated by 2 11 to 0 9. It was really a game of contrasting fortunes, Donoughmore were well in control in the first half but we scored some great points in the second half.

Junior C Hurling.
The East Cork Junior C Hurling Championship commences next week. We are in action against Castlemartyr on Friday September the 7th. This will be our third adult team to go into championship action this season. We will be under pressure as our opponents are the second string from the Castlemartyr Club. We have competed in Division Three of the East Cork League. In reality it’s been tough at times to field a team but it’s great to be able to provide games for so many hurlers in the club. The Championship tie will commence at 6.45; the venue is not decided yet. Best of luck lads in this game.

Congratulations to the Kildorrery Junior Hurlers who won the North Cork Hurling title for the first time since 1988 at Kilworth on Saturday evening. Best of luck in their County JHC campaign.
Meeting.
The next Bride Rovers Club Executive meeting is on Monday September the 3rd in the clubrooms at 9pm.
Cork Beaten.
Is it the end of an era? No one knows yet but the winds of change are certainly blowing through Gaelic Football with Donegal’s win over Cork last Sunday. While it was a disappointing end to the Rebels campaign there is no doubting the merits of the Ulster side and the type of football they played. Great credit though to Conor Counihan and his team for the great displays over recent seasons. Just one All Ireland victory in 2010 is scant reward for this fine bunch of players and their mentors. There may well be changes in playing personnel in the future but all the Cork footballers have been great ambassadors for the County in recent years. Donegal are now qualified for just their second ever All Ireland Final and it will be some month in the north west.
