2013 Season Starts Up

The New Year is well started and soon it will be all systems go with games at all levels commencing. The first meeting of the East Cork Junior Board has taken place and the draws for the Junior A Hurling Championship were made. We got the hardest draw of all, Dungourney – the team that has dominated Imokilly Junior Hurling over the last few seasons. The first meeting of the Cork County Board for 2013 takes place on next Tuesday night January 29th. This is the closing date for Transfers between clubs.

Scholarships for learning Gaeilge

A number of Gaeltacht Scholarships are available for boys and girls aged from12 to 18. The Scholarship greatly reduces the cost of attending the summer course In Irish in the Gaeltacht. Full details from the Club Secretary.

Scor

The East Cork Final of Scor Sinsear was due to take place this coming Sunday night but has been put back a week to Sunday Feb 3rd.

Development Work

During the week work commenced on tiling and reproofing of the toilets and showers in the dressing rooms. The club is constantly trying to improve the facilities available for both players and supporters. To carry out this work in these straightened financial times we are dependent on income coming in. Membership Fees for 2013 are now due and as ever the Weekly Lotto is vital for our financial wellbeing. Your support is asked for and appreciated.

Club Website

The Bride Rovers GAA Club website www.briderovers.ie is proving popular at home and abroad. If you have any ideas for improving the website or suggestions for additions please contact us. Recently over 100 extra photographs have been added in the Gallery Section as well as extra match reports. If you have any old Club photos we would love to put them up on the website so please contact any Club Officer. We have very few photographs from the 1940’s and 1950’s and would seek any GAA related pictures taken in the parish during this period. Even photos of groups or individuals at carnivals, tournaments or East Cork games would be very welcome. Also please remind family members scattered all over the world to log in and keep in touch.

Congrats Loreto

Well done to Loreto of Fermoy who had a great win over Mallow in the Munster Football final last Sunday, Bride Rovers had a very strong representation on the Loreto squad.

Best of Luck Kildorrery

We wish the Kildorrery Junior Hurlers all the best at the weekend when they face Thomastown of Kilkenny in the All Ireland Club semi Final.

The Bride Rovers GAA Club main sponsor is The Rathcormac Inn/Conversation Piece.
