U15 Camogie

Friday August 24th.

After a slow start against a strong Sars U15 side, our girls knuckled down to the task well and were very competitive for the rest of the match. We did not get the scores that our general display deserved, which was due in no small way to the Sars goalkeeper who made some fine saves, but there were many positives to be taken from the match nonetheless.

Intercounty Football

Well done to our representatives on the Cork senior panel who qualified for the 2012 All-Ireland semi-final when easily beating Donegal at Dr Hyde Park but hard luck to Bride Rovers player Claire Murphy and all the other Cork U16 footballers who narrowly lost out to Galway in the All-Ireland Final. Both games took place last Saturday, August 25.

U13/14 Football

Bride Rovers 4-12             Fermoy 2-9

Our U13/14 panel had their first win of the 2012 summer league when they overcame the visiting Fermoy team last Tuesday, August 21st at Rathcormac. We fell behind early on but steadily improved and gained the upper hand in the second half. Some positional changes on the field by the mentors worked well for this match and this group can now look forward to the final league game on Thursday, August 30th.

Scorers : Katie Quirke 3-4, Emma Roche 1-1, Michelle Lane 0-2, Grace Culloty 0-3, Jessica Howard 0-1, Aoife Deasy 0-1

Upcoming fixture : U13/14 league at home to Rockban on Thursday, August 30th at 7pm.

U10 Football

Bride Rovers 2-4 St Colemans 3-4

We continued our U10 league campaign taking on St Colemans in Shanagarry last week (Thankfully the night stayed dry). It was end to end stuff as Ella in goal had to make a number of saves while Caoimhe O’S and Caoimhe K were at their best defending a number of attacks. Chloe was sending great balls to the forward. Rebecca H and Rebecca W and Alanna were chasing everything in the forward line. We had a lot of possession throughout the first half with Ciara and Aoife scoring goals while Caoimhe H scored a point. St Colemans scored 1-2.

Abbie, Kate and Aoife H were all introduced in the second half and played well. We were first to score in the second half with Sophie and Abby scoring points. St Colemans attacked and scored 2-2 throughout the second half while Shauna scored a point. Thanks to parents for travelling.

Panel: Ella Quinlan, Caoimhe Kielty, Caoimhe Hazelwood, Abby Keating, Aoife Cowman, Caoimhe O’Sullivan, Shauna Hayes, Chloe Murphy, Ciara O’Flynn, Abby Hoare, Aoife Lomasney, Rebecca Hill, Rebecca Walsh, Kate O’Riordan, Sophie Dorgan, Alanna Broderick

Minor Football
