U14 Camogie

Thursday, July 5
Clonakilty 1-4 Bride Rovers 2-3

Bride rovers u14s had a very exciting county quarter final win away to Clonakilty last Thursday. We took time to get into our stride and didn’t score until well into the first half, despite having lots of possession. Some positional changes at half-time worked very well and we gradually ate into the Clonakilty lead, taking the lead with a Laura Quirke goal with only a few minutes left on the clock. The drama didn’t end there though as Clonakilty were awarded a close-in free. A fiercely-struck goal-bound shot was stopped on the line by Sarah O’ Flynn and the ball was cleared to safety just as the final whistle sounded.
We are now into a semi-final which will be played in the coming weeks.

Senior ladies football

Wednesday, July 4
Bride Rovers 5-7. Eire Og 2-4

We enjoyed a good victory in our first summer league fixture against Eire Og at Pynes last Wednesday. The first half was close but a few second half goals gave us some breathing space and victory was comfortable in the end.
