Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club notes.

November 8, 2018

Senior Ladies Football

Upcoming fixture versus Rosscarbery on Friday, March 30th to be confirmed.

Junior Camogie

Our Junior camogie panel made the short trip to Castlelyons to participate in the Ciara O’Brien memorial tournament on Saturday, March 24th and played matches against Castlemagner and Watergrasshill. Thanks again to Castlelyons Camogie club for their invitation and their hospitality on the day.

Junior Ladies Football

Our junior team played Douglas at 4pm on Sunday, March 25th at Rathcormac. We trailed to a youthful Douglas side by only a couple of points at half-time but their fitness advantage told in the second half and they ran out 2-10 to 1-3 winners in the end.

We will not be able to play our next fixture next weekend away to St Colums due to player unavailability so our next fixture is possibly away to Ilen Rovers on the weekend of 6/7/8/9 April, Easter weekend. We hope to have most injuries cleared up by then and to see the return of our minor players after their victory in the East Cork league final. League games are also scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 at home to St Peters and Sunday, April 15 away to St Colums.

Minor Ladies Football

2011 Minor Football league final, 6:30pm on Sunday, March 25th at Lisgoold.

Bride Rovers 3-11 Lisgoold 1-3

Congratulations to our 2011 minor panel and mentors who captured the minor 11-a-side league in decisive fashion in Lisgoold on Sunday night. This was a game where we enjoyed a lot of possession from the start and eventually translated that into scores. Credit though to Lisgoold also who never gave up and truly enjoyed little luck either in front of goal during the game. Well done to all our girls and also to injured colleagues Eadaoin Cashman and Erin O’Keeffe who contributed hugely during the path to this final. Let’s hope they are back in action soon.

U14 Ladies Football

Sunday, March 25th at Shanagarry.

St Colmans 1-5 Bride Rovers 0-8.

Our U14s continue to prove very competitive in the U14 league this year and earned a decent draw away to St Colmans last Sunday. Shanagarry is always a tough venue to visit and this proved no exception. Both sides had their chances to snatch victory but a draw seemed a fair result to this observer.
