The Ciara O Brien memorial tournament takes place in Castlelyons on Saturday, March 24th and Bride Rovers will be represented by a team of our junior camogie players.

Junior Ladies Football

Our newly formed Junior panel had their first run out against a strong Glanmire team at Rathcormac on Sunday, March 11th. Our turnout was excellent considering many of our girls were unavailable because of work etc. Glanmire sent a stronger team than we expected for this practice match but it was a worthwhile exercise in any case. St Peter’s cannot travel to us on Monday, March 19th for our first league game so we will probably train that afternoon instead. Our first league game is now scheduled to be at home to Douglas on the weekend of March 24th / 25th.

U14 Ladies Football

East Cork U14 Ladies Football League

Saturday March 10th at Buck Leary’s Cross

Glanmire 2-7      Bride Rovers ?

Our U14s continue to improve noticeably and this year’s management team of Vincent Cronin, Emma O Keeffe, John A Murphy and (sec.) Valerie Culloty are getting a great response from the group of players. This was never more evident than at Buck Leary’s cross last Saturday when we took on Glanmire in a game that went down to the wire. Glanmire are a very well coached and prepared panel with enviable playing resources and they have had the Indian sign over us in recent years. For this reason, we would not take any victory over them lightly and we are disappointed that what we believe was an honest scorekeeping error resulted in one of our goals being recorded as a point which had the effect of turning a one point win for Bride Rovers into a one point loss. In fairness, Glanmire were very sporting about the unfortunate sequence of events afterwards but we hope this can be resolved satisfactorily in due course.

Match Panel : Madison Parle, Sarah O Flynn, Niamh Murphy, Maria O Sullivan, Emma Barry (0-1), Aoife Deasy, Grainne Noonan, Vivienne Cowman, Grace Culloty (0-1), Laura Quirke (0-2), Michelle Lane (1-1), Emma Roche (0-2), Nicola Murphy, Taylor Parle (1-0), Emma Hazelwood (0-1), Shauna O Connell, Aisling Finnegan

Qualification games for U14 Feile 2012 are now confirmed for Monday, March 19th, at Fermoy GAA, starting at 9:30am.
