Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club notes.

November 8, 2018

Intermediate Ladies Football

Our recently-crowned Cork Intermediate Ladies Football champions continued their winning ways when they narrowly overcame Moyle Rovers of Tipperary on Saturday, September 10th in the Munster Club Championship quarter-final at Watergrasshill. The semi-final against Shannon Gaels of Clare is provisionally scheduled for Saturday, October 1st . Our team has enjoyed fantastic support in their Championship fixtures to date and let’s hope similar numbers turn out while this great run continues.

Junior Camogie

Our Junior Camogie Team take on Castlelyons in the Junior Championship Semi-Final at a venue to be decided on Sunday 18th Sept at 12 noon. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

U16 Camogie

Our U16 camogie panel had a well-deserved win in their first County Championship outing against Dungourney on Wednesday, September 7th in Rathcormac. The next round is scheduled for Saturday, September 17th and the best of luck to players and mentors in that.

U12 Ladies Football

Sunday, September 11th .

Bride Rovers 5-6      Valley Rovers 2-13

Our U12s have a County Final to prepare for after a hard-fought, tight win over Valley Rovers at Glanmire on Sunday, September 11th. Our first half counter-attacking performance, playing against the wind, was excellent and we actually led by 7 points at the interval. Valley Rovers are dogged competitors however and fought back strongly in the second half and gradually closed the gap, drawing level with about five minutes to go. This set up a grandstand finish and the decisive score was a penalty by Grace Culloty with only minutes remaining. In hindsight, our backs limited the number of goals and clearcut goal chances that Valley Rovers got and this contributed in no small way to this semi-final win.

The County Final is provisionally set for Saturday, September 17th at Mayfield, at either 5pm or 6pm (more likely). Please come out and give the U12 girls all the support you can.
