Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club notes.

Intermediate Ladies Football

Our recently-crowned Cork Intermediate Ladies Football champions are in action again next Saturday, September 10th when they play their first Munster Club Championship fixture against Moyle Rovers of Tipperary. Throw-in is at 2:45pm in Ballygiblin and everyone is encouraged to turn out in great numbers again to support the girls.

 

 

Minor Ladies Football

 

Our minor team had their second win of the minor league campaign when they defeated Cobh in Rathcormac on Tuesday, August 30th so we currently have a 100% record. The greater experience of our panel was telling against a spirited Cobh side who competed gallantly throughout.

 

U16 Ladies Football

Our U16 footballers will be in action shortly against Beara at a half-way venue. Venue and date remain to be confirmed.

 

U16 Camogie

Our U16 camogie panel enter into Championship action against Dungourney on Wednesday, September 7th in Rathcormac so the result will be known by the time these notes are published. Best of luck to all involved and let’s hope the result went our way.

 

U15 Ladies Football

Our U15 panel rounded off their East Cork League campaign in fine style with a comprehensive win at near neighbours Watergrasshill on Wednesday, August 31st. Our record in this competition has been very impressive as we won all three games.

 

U12 Ladies Football

Saturday, September 3rd.

Donoughmore 2-7           Bride Rovers 4-5              

 

Rovers U12s recorded an excellent win in Donoughmore last Saturday to qualify for the semi-final of the County Championship. The half-time picture did not look so rosy when we trailed by 5 points to 1 point, but some positional changes paid off and our scoring threat increased in the second half when we scored 4-4.

Intercounty News

Congratulations to Kathleen Kearney’s Senior B panel, which included our own Jennifer Barry who was called up for the first time, victorious over Kerry on Saturday, September 4th in Ballincollig.

 

 

Official Opening of Bride Rovers Astro-Pitch and Hurling Wall

Uachtaran CLG Christy Cooney will officially open Bride Rovers’ impressive new Astro-pitch and Hurling Wall on Friday, September 9th. The Ladies Club are delighted to be asked to participate in this event and our younger players will play some short exhibition games on the astro-pitch on the night : U10 (6pm to 6:15pm), U12 (6:15pm to 6:30pm) and U14 (8pm to 8:15pm).

 

 

Ladies Football Senior All-Ireland Final

Cork take on Monaghan on Sunday, September 25th in Croke Park in this year’s senior All-Ireland final. We are booking a bus to bring supporters to the match and everyone is encouraged to attend, especially as our own Grace Kearney and Eleanor Ahern are representing us on the senior panel this year.

The cost of the complete package of transport and match ticket is 35 euro per adult and 15 euro for U16s and senior citizens. Bookings can be made primarily to Richie Regan (087 202 1225) but also to any other club official or mentor. Bookings and payment is required by Thursday, September 15th to secure a seat on the bus.

 

 

Clothes Collection Fundraiser

Here is a chance to get rid of your old clothes and help raise some money for our club at the same time. A collection of old clothing will be made at Rathcormac Community Hall on September 16th and September 23rd , from 3pm to 3:30pm and from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on both days.

Bride Rovers U14 Hurling County Champions

Congratulations to Rovers U14 hurlers and their mentors on winning the U14 County Championship, beating Dromtarriffe in the replayed final in Mallow on Saturday last. The future looks bright for the club with such up and coming talent.
