Cork Intermediate Ladies Football Championship Final

The County Final against Naomh Aban is now scheduled for Sunday, August 28th at 7pm. Unfortunately, a venue has not been announced at time of writing.

Please support the panel of players and mentors as they strive to bring great honour to our club.

The Avondhu are very kindly including a feature on Bride Rovers Ladies Football and Camogie Club which appears elsewhere in this week’s issue, as part of the build up to the final, and many thanks to them for that.

Bride Rovers 8-9               Aghada 3-4

Rovers U15s got their U15 league campaign off to a great start with a convincing win over Aghada at Pynes’ field. Our backs worked tirelessly to limit scoring opportunities for Aghada and our forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over to record a very encouraging win.

U12 Ladies Football

Thursday, August 18th

Eire Og 3-11       Bride Rovers 5-5

Our U12 girls played out a very entertaining draw with Eire Og at Ovens on Thursday, August 18th. Games between these sides are normally very open and high scoring and this was no exception. We had a good turnout for this match as players return from holidays and it was a good prep game for County Championship and East Cork Championship games ahead.

Intercounty News

Congratulations to Grace Kearney, Eleanor Ahern and Kathleen Kearney for their contributions to intercounty success for Cork last weekend. Eleanor and Grace are now preparing for an All-Ireland Senior A semi-final on Saturday, August 27th against Laois while the Senior B panel are in action the following weekend. Best of luck to all three of our representatives in those fixtures and indeed to manager Betty Cahill and Jennifer Cahill who will be lining out for the Cork U16s in the upcoming All-Ireland Shield final.
