Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club Notes

November 8, 2018

The club will again hold a registration night this year, following the success of previous years. This is scheduled for Friday night, March 4, starting in the clubrooms at 7:30pm. Registration charges are unchanged from 2010 for all player grades, mentors and adult members. It’s very important that all players are registered so that they are covered by the injury fund/insurance.

U16 Ladies Football, Saturday Feb 12, Bride Rovers vs Lisgoold (friendly)

The U16 girls got underway for 2011 when Lisgoold travelled to Pynes pitch for a friendly match. After a slow start, the Rovers settled down and the game was closely contested thereafter. This was a good exercise to blow out winter cobwebs and excellent preparation for the first league game coming up against Carrigtwohill.

Upcoming fixture (to be confirmed by team management later)

U16 East Cork Ladies Football League  - Carrigtwohill vs Bride Rovers, Sunday February 20th.

U14 Ladies Football, Sunday Feb 13, Glanmire vs Bride Rovers (friendly)

Our U14 panel travelled to Buck Leary’s Cross on Sunday for their first match of the season vs Glanmire. After a very bright start, the Rovers tired noticeably so this was a badly-needed outing to improve fitness levels. Another friendly game is likely to be scheduled for next weekend to continue this.

Upcoming fixture (to be confirmed by team management later)

U14 East Cork Ladies Football League  - Fermoy vs Bride Rovers, Sunday February 27th.

U12 Ladies Football

U12 Activities for 2011 will kick off next Saturday, Feb 19 on the Castlelyons Astroturf. Meet at 11:10am. We will hold the annual street league competition and 2010 U12 girls are invited to participate also because of the postponement of the original street leagues during the freeze-up in November and December.

On the inter-county front, Cork Senior Ladies Footballers kicked off their league campaign with a win over Kildare. Bride Rovers are represented by both Eleanor Ahern and Grace Kearney this year and we wish them the very best of luck for the season ahead.
