Tuesday, September 28.

East Cork U12 Ladies Football Championship Semi-Final.

Bride Rovers 1-0.              Fermoy 3-4.

Bride Rovers U12 Tigers’ competitive season came to an end on Sept 28 at Rathcormac when we were defeated by Fermoy on a scoreline of 3-4 to 1-0.

Our backs limited Fermoy’s scoring fairly well and we had a reasonable amount of possession overall. However, our inability to score when we were in good positions ultimately proved our downfall. A couple of first half injuries to two of our older players did not help our cause either. Sarah Murphy deputised in goals at very short notice and put in a fine performance. Our girls, many of whom are still U10, put everything into the game and should be very proud of themselves. Rovers’ goal was a fine strike by Katy Quirke and it was no more than the team deserved.
