Bride Rovers Ladies (SENIOR) Football & Camogie Club Notes.

November 8, 2018

Cork County Intermediate Ladies Football Champions

Bride Rovers were crowned Cork Intermediate Ladies Football champions on Sunday, August 28th after a fantastic win over Namoh Aban in the final in Mourneabbey.

We recovered quickly from the concession of a very early goal to grab the initiative with some great goals of our own and never looked back afterwards. Congratulations to captain Emma O’Keeffe and all the players who have brought such great honour to our club. Well done also to the management team of Irene Hogan and Nora Ahern who expertly prepared the team with a game plan to give us a day that surely ranks with the best that this club has ever seen.

Our panel is a fine mix of experienced and young players and we can now look forward with confidence to a Munster club campaign, with an upcoming fixture against Moyle Rovers of Tipperary.

Training on Wednesday and Friday night and possibly a challenge match at the weekend. Congratulations to the football team on their magnificent win on Sunday night.

U15 Camogie

Monday, August 29th

Carrigtwohill 4-8               Bride Rovers 1-4

Our U15 East Cork camogie campaign ended in defeat last Monday when we travelled to Carrigtwohill. The home side proved the stronger over the hour and deserved their win but the Rovers rallied well, especially in the second half, and tried their hardest right to the end.

U14 Ladies Football

Tuesday, August 23rd

Bride Rovers 9-8               Erins Own            1-8.

Our U14s played out a very useful challenge game against Erins Own on Tuesday, August 23rd in Pynes field. This was our first outing as a group for a few weeks and proved very worthwhile.

U12 Ladies Football

Saturday, August 27th

Bride Rovers 6-6               Carrigaline 2-5

Carrigaline U12s visited Bride Rovers last Saturday for the first time and played out an entertaining football friendly game against our girls. Some early goals helped our team to settle but the game subsequently proved to be quite competitive. Carrigaline are now scheduled to visit us again on Saturday, September 3rd, at 12 noon to renew rivalry, except on the camogie field this time, and we look forward to that.
