Fr. Murphy’s are hard in training as both camogie and football teams are in championship action on the weekend of 30th May. The camogie team take on Tara in the second round of the London Senior Championship on Saturday 30th at 12.30pm in Greenford, having lost the opening game to Bros. Pearse a few weeks back. The girls have regrouped, however, and are in a confident mood ahead of the game. Fr. Murphy’s have beaten Tara already twice this season – in the final of the Birmingham International Festival and in the final of the Tara 7s tournament. When the two sides met in the league, however, Tara were the winning side when Fr. Murphy’s fielded with only 12 players.
The footballers face Holloway Gaels in the on Sunday 31st at 11am in Greenford. Newly promoted Holloway Gaels are a much tougher side than last year so the London Senior Football Champions will not have an easy game.
Training for both camogie and football continues Mondays at 7.15pm in Greenford, and Wednesday at 7.15pm in Twickenham Green. New players, in either codes, of all ability levels, are always welcome.
