Championship Success For Young Highmoss Ladies

November 7, 2018

Sarsfields 4-11 Tir na nÓg 4-01
The Sarsfields U14 Ladies won the Division Three Championship after a fine victory over Tir na nÓg in front of a large attendance on Saturday evening.
Playing into the wind Sarsfields were on top in the first half and led by four points at half time. The team though was well aware that they could have been further ahead, had they taken their scores.
Taking to the field in the second half, the team was determined to make their dominance count on the scoreboard. Sarsfields hit 2-04 without reply to guarantee that they would be collecting the trophy and crucially they held the Portadown girls scoreless for twenty minutes. The Highmoss ladies held on to win by ten points despite a brave Tir na nÓg fight.
Armagh Ladies Board representative Roisín Bell from the Clann Eireann club complimented both teams on the display of football and commented that she was delighted that her club could host the final and such a large crowd of supporters.
To the young Sarsfields players she said that they would now move up to the next level and that they had earned and deserved that right.
Roisín presented the trophy to Sarsfields captain Elisha Donnelly.
