Week 1: “Management is a 10 to 12 hour day” – Sligo Manager, Kevin Walsh

Championship Throw-In airs on TV3 on Fridays at 6.30pm and is repeated on Saturdays at 9am

Championship Throw-In is back on TV3 for another season starting this Friday 4th June at 6.30pm.  Presenters Kieran McSweeney and Sinéad Kissane will be travelling all over the country bringing you big name interviews as well as all the news ahead of the weekend’s championship action.

This week Sinéad has been to Cork to talk to Daniel Goulding with a Munster Championship semi-final against Kerry in Killarney on the horizon, while Sligo manager Kevin Walsh gave Kieran his views on management ahead of the Yeats County Connacht Championship clash with Mayo on Sunday, “There’s a lot of talk about managers getting this and getting that but, you know, it really probably is a ten to twelve hour day every single day”, he said. “People should maybe realise that it’s off the pitch where most of the work is done.”

Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Criostóír Ó Cuana wished all concerned with Championship Throw-In every success. He said: ‘We have a very good working relationship with TV3 who will cover our championship games for the third season this summer and we look forward to the same professionalism and attention to detail being brought to bear on that coverage.” ‘This weekly magazine programme is an integral part of that coverage reaching out to a non-match day audience of all ages, casting our games in an attractive light. We look forward to its return and to the part it will play in the build up to the big weekend games on a weekly basis.’
