Ireland will play their first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup game against South American side, Brazil on Monday, September 6 before facing Canada on Thursday, September 9 with both games taking place at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Trinidad. The ‘Girls in Green’ complete their Group 4 fixtures against Ghana at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago on September 13. Only the top two teams of each group will progress to the quarter finals of the competition.
Ireland’s preparations for the tournament included a tri-nations cup victory over England and Denmark last weekend in Manchester while the delegation will now travel to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday August 26 for a pre-tournament training camp which includes two friendly games against tournament finalists, Trinidad and Tobago and New Zealand on August 28 and 31 respectively.  We wish her well.
