Our Senior Footballers are through to the semi-final of the Cork Senior Football Championship after their hugely impressive win over Clonakilty on Sunday,  1-18 to 0-11.

They will meet St Finbarr's on Sunday October 7th in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, in a repeat of last year's semi-final.
Rangers were on top from the throw in in a well balanced team  performance   with John Hayes , Kevin McMahon ,Alan Jennings  anď John O Rourke always to the forefront. Brian and Mark Hodnett put in impressive performances and the well marshelled  defence turned over the ball numerous times making Clonakilty chase the game for the most part.
Rangers were economical in their use of the ball, having only one wide in the whole game.
After seven minutes the sides were level, two points each, with the deadly accurate John Hayes scoring for Ross. From then on Rangers took a grip of proceedings and a point from the hard working Seamus Hayes had Rangers ahead 0-06 to 0-03. Two more points from Clon and further points from Mark Hodnett, John Hayes and John O Rourke who nailed superb points also, had Rangers deservedly ahead at half time 0-10 to 0-05.
The opening  two and a half minutes of the second half finished the game as a contest. Within a minute  of the restart Mark Hodnett tore through the Clon defence  and buried the ball in the Clon goal. John Hayes and Alan Jennings quickly added points to make it 1-12 to 0-05. And on the 34th minute John Hayes popped over a free to put eleven points between the teams. From there on  Rangers remained firmly in charge , continued to profit from continuously turning over the ball and the game came to it's inevitable conclusion with Patrick Hurley getting  Rangers final score, a well taken fisted point to see them  through to the semi-final,  full time score 1-18 to 0-11.

The Under 16 Footballers are through to the final of the Premier 2 U16 Football Championship Final after a convincing win over Valley Rovers in the semi-final in Clonakilty on Saturday , 2-07 to 0-09.
This is a huge achievement for the club, with this being the fourth consecutive  year that Rangers have reached the Premier U16 finals, having won the Premier 2 final  in 2016.
Conditions were poor ,at times the strong wind changed direction and it made for tough going for both teams. Valleys started well and were 3 points to no score ahead after 11 minutes. Peadar O Rourke  who had an outstanding game, got Rangers first score, a goal after 13  minutes . Both sides exchanged points, both frees, before Rangers got 2 great points from play, Peadar O Rourke and Kelan Scannell  getting a point each  and Harry Oates was on  target from a free to leave Rangers ahead at half time,  1-04 to 0-04. Within seconds of the restart,  Harry Oates goaled and Rangers never looked like loosing the game after this. Valleys did score 3 points on the trot  but  Ross responded with further  points from Evan Browne and Harry Oates, who was very  accurate  from placed balls before Valleys got the final score of the game , but it was Rangers who deservedly  won, 2-07 to 0-09. A great performance  from everyone and the subs introduced.  Kelan Scannell fielded alot of ball around the middle and the backs made it very difficult for the Valley boys to score, with Killian Fitzpatrick, Caolan Hayes and Sean Hayes leading the defence.  In fact, all of Valley's scores were from placed balls.
They now await the winners of the other semi-final between  Wolfe Tones and Gabriel Rangers,  and the final will be played in 3 weeks time.
