CLASSIC MATCHES

Over the past number of years, the archive has been trawled and some classic matches have been uncovered and clips of them put up on Stars TV on the club website. Classics such as 1985 U-12 Final to 1990 Senior Final and of course the 1987 Ulster Semi Final with the Roy of The Rovers finish….

After much research the library of matches has now been extended to feature over 70 club occasions from over the last 30 years. From memorable victories in finals to heartbreaking defeats, they all feature. Seniors to U-12, pitch openings, heck there are even some AGM’s!!!

The full list of matches are listed on www.kingscourtstars.ie under Stars TV and DVD’s can be ordered for just €10. If you are interested just send the club an e-mail at info@kingscourtstars.ie or ring Tommy on 087 2226614.

EAST  GALES HURLING CLUB NOTES

Under 14s match on and games coming up for 8s and 10s

Under 12/14;

Our under 14s had a great result against Woodford Gaels at a freezing Breffni 3G on Sunday in the quarter final of the U14 Championship. Winning by 4-07 to 0-02 they expressed themselves well considering a large number of them are underage again next year. It was tough going especially in the first half where scores were hard to come by. They went in at the break 1-03 to 0-01 ahead. The hit a purple patch midway through the second half and hit some long range points as well as a couple of goals to remain on top. Credit to Woodford who never gave up and continued to fight all the way to the end but East Cavan were not to be denied their place in next weeks semi final. Well done to all the players, coaches and mentors who helped get the season off to a very positive start. Mid week training is scheduled for the 12s/14s in preparation for the next round. Players will be notified when training is on.

Under 8/10;

Training as normal on Fridays. Under 8s from 6-7 and under 10s from 7-8 both at the Community School Sports Hall, Bailieborough, €2 each please. We are busy organising a schedule of matches for these groups over the next few weeks. Numbers continue their upward trend but we would love to see more new players for 2012.
