U-21’S

Congrats to Cavan U-21’s on winning the Ulster Championship and then reaching the All-Ireland Final last week. A super achievement to all involved both on and off the field.  In particular, well done to Barry Reilly, Colm Smith, Shane Gray & Barry Tully who are all on the Panel and not forgetting Joe McCarthy who is a selector. Best of luck to them all in the Final against Galway which takes place on Saturday 30th April.

SENIORS & JUNIORS

Both Seniors & Junior matches were postponed at the weekend due to the County  U-21 match. Next scheduled match for the Seniors is at home to Killeshandra on Sunday 24th @ 3.30pm but that may also be cancelled because of the pending U-21 final, so watch www.kingscourtstars.ie during the week for confirmation on that. The Juniors next game is scheduled as away to Gowna on Friday 29th @ 7.15pm.

MINORS

The Minors secured second place in the League on Friday night with a 2-11 to 0-6 win over St. Joseph’s down the Park. A tight first half ended level at 0-4 each before a blistering 2nd half performance saw the forwards hit their stride.

Their final game is home to Ramor Utd on Monday 2nd May at 12 noon with a semi-final (probably against St. Joseph’s) likely to come the following week.

UNDERAGE

The 16s came up against a very good Ramor side at home last week, losing 6-16 to 3-10. They now get ready for three away matches in a row over the next three Tuesday nights starting with a trip to Laragh (19th) @ 7.15pm, with Templeport and Redbridge up the following Tuesdays.

The 14s have a bye this week and are not in action again until the 28th when they will be at home to Ramor Utd. The 12s are away to Maghera tonight (18th) before they have a little break until the 9th May when they host Cuchullainns.

No updates I’m afraid on either of the Girls underage teams. Remember the underage training (Ages 6-10) continues each Sunday morning down the Park for both boys and girls and new members are always welcome.

EASTER CAMP

The Club is running a GAA Easter Camp next week. It is for Ages 8-14 and runs from Tuesday (26th) to Friday 29th from 10am to 3pm.  The cost is €25 and if you are interested in putting your child’s name down or have any questions on it,  please contact James Brown (086 8640380) or Pat Faulkner

PARISH RECEPTION

Last week, the club were invited to a reception in the Parish Centre to mark the 2010 Senior Championship victory.  The club was honoured to receive the invitation and a great evening was had by all present. We would like to thank Fr. Gerry and the Parish Pastoral Committee for both organising the evening and also for their ongoing support to the club. For photos from the evening, please check out the parish website – www.kingscourtparish.ie
