SENIORS

The Seniors made it to the league final last weekend with a 2-14 to 2-8 victory over Ballinagh in a cold and wet Kingspan Breffni Park.  An early Ballinagh goal was quickly cancelled out when Barry Reilly picked out Mossy Malone who found the back of the net to level matters at 1-2 each.

Soon after Joe McMahon also goaled and when Gavin Sheenan struck over two delightful 50’s, there was some daylight between the sides.  Both times traded points and the Stars went in 2-8 to 1-5 ahead at halftime.

Despite some big hits from both sides, the 2nd half was played out in a rather pedestrian pace and even a late Ballinagh goal did little to raise any chance of an upset and the county champions will have an opportunity to do The Double when they have a Final repeat against Cavan Gaels on Sunday @ 6.30pm in Kingspan Breffni Park.

Granted, a match in Breffni on a dark Sunday evening, a Halloween evening at that, won’t suit everyone. However, we would ask all supporters, to continue their great efforts this year, for one last game, to try and cheer on the lads.

CROKE PARK TRIP

The Juvenile Club are organising a trip to Croke Park on Saturday to watch the International Rules match between Ireland and Australia.  The bus leaves at 4.30 pm from the Park and the cost is €10.  There are players going from teams from U-12 up to Minor.

WINTER FOOTBALL

With November practically upon us the conditions for outdoor football are hardly ideal.  However, given the enthusiasm for ball within the club at the moment, the Juvenile Club are eager to keep things going.

As such, a six week indoor program will run from Sun 7th November in Kingscourt Community Centre from 11.30am to 1pm.  It will just continue with the basic training of Gaelic Football and is open to all boys/girls (whether existing club members or not) from aged 5-10. Cost of the training will be just €1 per morning and further details can be got of James Brown on 086 8640380.

LOTTO

The winning numbers in this week’s lotto were 04, 11, 12 & 19 (Bonus 14). There was no jackpot winner but eight Match 3’s (including a 2nd online win from Joe Gargan, and the 5th online win in total) won €25 each. Next week’s draw takes place in Malone and the jackpot will be €4,600 (€9,600 including the bonus).
