SENIORS

Kingscourt’s Championship campaign got off to a bitterly disappointing start when an injury-time free saw Cuchullains gain a thoroughly deserved 2-9 to 1-11 victory in Virginia last Saturday evening.  For a little bit more detail on the match (although you really don’t want any more, trust me!) please click here.

LIVE STREAMING

Kingscourt Stars GAA made history on 13th July 2010 when they became the first Cavan & Ulster GAA club (and just the 2nd in Ireland) to stream a live match on their website. Next time to log on for some live ball is 7.30pm on Wed 4th Aug 2010 when we host Gowna in the 1st Rd of the Junior B Championship.  With both teams having serious designs on winning the Junior B this should hopefully be another great match not lacking in skill or intensity.

As it’s Junior B, you never know what future talent or past great you might say on show…..  So log on to www.kingscourtstars.ie @ 7.30pm on Wed 4th Aug, it should be a cracker, we’ll even have a commentator!!

MINOR & 16s

The Minors start their championship campaign next Monday (2nd) with a trip to Drung to face St. Finbarr’s.  With the 16’s having been defeated a couple of weeks back in the same venue and by the same team, hopefully those involved in that game will be able to gain some form of compensation in reversing that result.

The 16s face Ramor tonight (Mon) down the park in the Shield with the winners facing Crosserlough in the Shield Final.

UNDERAGE

The 8s & 10s are continuing their training on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings respectively and are still going strong.  Always eager for challenge matches, if any other club is looking for same please feel free to give us a shout.  The 10s have a challenge away to Rathkenny tonight (Mon) and then away to Hunterstown on Wed week (4th).

The 13s lost their final group match to Castletara last week but they had already topped the group and were through to the semi finals.  They will play that semi on Thursday week (5th) although opposition and venue are unknown at the moment.

The 15s will take part in the Og Sport 7 a side competition in Kingspan Breffni Park this Saturday morning.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

The club’s mini league in Gaelic Life’s Fantasy Football Championship competition is ongoing, well in name anyway.  However, Joe Mc has streaked clear in recent weeks and is now over 80 points clear of Pat Faulkner & Seanie Farrelly.  However we shouldn’t feel too bad as he is the leader of the whole national competition which has over 1500 entries. At least one Cavan man is challenging for honours in this year’s Ulster Championship….  For the latest results check out Gaelic Life every Friday or the website is updated over the weekend.

LOTTO

Well it had to happen!  The weekend saw the lotto jackpot go with Fergal Murtagh matching all four number to win the €11,200 jackpot.  Incidentally, Fergal plays the lotto on direct debit, which remains the best way to support the club through the lotto, so contact any committee member if you wish to sign up.

The winning numbers were 03, 11, 25 & 27 (Bonus 14).  Next week’s draw takes place in Blake’s on Monday 2nd and the jackpot will be €2,000.
