SENIORS

With Cavan now out of the qualifiers, the league and the championship will resume.  With no postponed matches to catch up on, the side will still be idle this coming weekend but are due to play Killygarry in the next round on the championship over the last weekend of July.  Confirmation of this should be on the website later this week.

This will of course be a great relief to both players and management as after just one game in nearly two months there are only so many challenge matches, beach runs and bleeping bleep tests you can do. How do you keep a side interested? Simple, you take them baking bread, herding sheep and ceili dancing with sweeping brushes! I kid you not, check out the Gallery section on www.kingscourtstars.ie

JUNIORS

The Juniors scheduled game against Belturbet last weekend was called off and with that they lost top spot in the division to Mullahoran, however they now have got two games in hand on the Dreadnoughts.  No upcoming fixtures have been issued yet, but as with the Seniors, confirmation of their next matches, notably the opening Junior B match away to Crosserlough, should be confirmed on the website later this week.

MINORS

The Minor’s are back training ahead on next month’s championship.  After a decent league campaign, the players and management will be hoping to get a good run in the championship this year, however this will only be possible with a major effort on the training pitch between now and then.  Training continues on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm and the draw for the championship is due to take place on Wed 22nd July with the opening match scheduled for Tues 18th August.

U-16’s

The 16’s beat an under-strength Ballyhaise side in the league semi in Cottehill last week and now face Cavan Gaels in the final which is on Friday 17th July in Kingspan Breffni Park at 8pm.  This has the makings of a super match and we’d encourage anyone who can make the trip to go and support the side.

Go on it’s a league final in Breffni against the Gaels on a Friday evening, what else are you gonna do.? Take a trip up the road (it’s not that bad of a road really), annoy your parents into bringing you, get a lift of someone, do what you can to get there and support the side.

After that the U-16 championship draw will take place on Wednesday 22nd July and is now due to  start on Tuesday 28th July with the final presumably also put back a week to Wednesday 19th August, but don’t quote me on that!

U-12 GIRL’S

The U-12 Girls are also appearing in a league final this week.  After going through Division 3B  with a 100% record they face Ballymachugh in the Division 3 League Final on Monday. Check out website later in the week for confirmation of time & venue.

Given that this is their first season together this is a tremendous achievement and everyone connected with the side deserves great credit.  Similar to the U-16 final, this should be a very entertaining match, with Kingscourt in superb form going into the match, so all support would be greatly appreciated.
