SENIORS

The Seniors met Knockbride in the park last Thursday evening, on an evening more akin to November than July.  Despite having the greater possession and cleaning up all the breaks at midfield, the Stars trailed 1-5 to 0-4 at halftime due to some slack passing.  Despite being well in the game, the loss of the midfield battle in the second half and the concession of another soft goal saw the visitors emerge victorious by 2-7 to 0-10.  For a detailed report, please log onto www.kingscourtstars.ie.

Not the ideal preparation for Saturday week’s championship encounter with Castlerahan.  This match will take place in Virginia at 7.30pm and we would ask everyone to make the effort to support the side.  With Bailieboro and Shercock both winning at the weekend, Div 2 status is still not secured and there will be a number of vital games in both competitions up for decision in the next month or two.

JUNIORS

The Juniors host Drumlane in a re-arranged Div 4 match this Friday evening at 8pm.  (Now cancel that, postponed again. Re-scheduled for Thuirsday week, but sure who knows!) Looking for their third consecutive victory, Kingscourt will be hoping to maintain their form ahead of the Junior B championship which is due to start next month.

MINORS

The Minors are back training now and play host to a top of the table clash with Cavan Gaels on Sunday 20th at 8.15pm.  This promises to be a fantastic match up between the leading sides in the county at this level in the season so far.  A treat should be in store for those who can be there to lend their support.

U-16’s

The U-16’s faced Laragh Utd in Cootehill last week in a league play-off to see who qualified for the semi-final. Despite conceded a goal in the opening minute, Kingscourt galvanised themselves and goals from Aaron Brown and Kevin Rodgers saw the Stars lead 2-9 to 1-2 at halftime.

However Laragh fought back and narrowed the gap to a solitary score before a Finnian Farrelly goal saw Kingscourt home by 3-10 to 2-8.  For a detailed report, please log onto www.kingscourtstars.ie.  This now sets up a semi-final clash away to Gowna on Friday at 8pm.

U-13’s

The U-13’s start training tonight (Monday 14th) and face the winners of Ramor and Castlerahan next Monday night in the Quarter-Finals of the championship.
