SENIORS

Seniors made the trip to Cootehill tonight (21st) for re-arranged Div 2 fixture.  A tight first half saw us lead 0-7 to 0-6 but a shocking 2nd half performance saw the hosts win comfortably by 1-15 to 0-10.

On Saturday evening at 7pm, another local derby occurs with a trip to Killinkere.  After the Cootehill defeat, the scenario is simple, six games left, six victories required, and that’s to have any hopes of promotion.  At this stage, it’s hard to see it, but you have to believe

JUNIORS

After opening their Division 4 campaign with two victories, the juniors met with their third consecutive defeat when they were defeated at home by Ballinagh on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-7.  For a report on this game go to www.kingscourtstars.ie

This weekend they will look to stop the rot when they entertain Gowna at home on Sunday 25th at 2pm.  They also face a trip to Drumalee on Wed 28th at 8pm.

MINORS

Congrats to Colm and Barry in their roles in Cavan minors victory against Antrim at the weekend.  Hopefully Thomas can recover from injury to also feature in the next game v Armagh

U-16

The U-16’s continued there league campaign over the past week.  Last week they had a very fruitful trip to Killygarry with a 3-13 to 0-4 victory.  Needing a win to maintain control of things they played host to Laragh Utd on Monday evening (19th).  A rollercoaster of a match eventually finished with the sides tied at 1-10 each.  Reports of both these games can be got on www.kingscourtstars.ie

Unfortunately the dropped point against Laragh means that Kingscourt must rely on results to go their way in the last match.  We must defeat Drumgoon at home on Friday (23rd) and hope that Shercock defeat Laragh to qualify from the final.

U-14’s

It was groundhog day in Bailieboro last Tuesday night as after a 100% group stage, the Gaels defeated us in the semi-finals.  An absolutely superb game saw Kingscourt refuse to give up on numerous occasions and made the Gaels fight all the way before a late push saw the Gaels home by a misleading 5-10 to 2-11 scoreline.

Credit to all our lads who battled bravely and despite some tremendous efforts all round they just fell short.  With Kingscourt a host town in Feile this year, I would encourage everyone to make the effort to take in some of the games on Sat 5th July, you will not be disappointed.
