SENIORS

On Bank Holiday Monday, the Seniors made the trip to Killeshandra for their next div 2 league match.  On a beautiful Summer’s evening a thrilling match ensued but the home side always held the upper hand.  A halftime lead of 0-10 to 0-5 was soon extended to 0-16 to 0-8 and while a 1-3 blitz narrowed the gap late on Killeshandra pulled clear for a deserved 0-19 to 1-11 victory.  For a full report please go to www.kingscourtstars.ie.

This weekend sees us host neighbours Bailieboro Shamrocks at 6pm.  Just over a decade ago this would have been a battle between the top two sides in the county.  Now it’s a midtable Division 2 clash.  However, it’s no less important, as after mediocre starts from both sides, a defeat on Saturday, would leave very little room for error in their promotion push in the second half of the season.

JUNIOR

Last weekend’s home clash with Belturbet was postponed and this week the Juniors make the trip to Mullahoran at 1pm on Sunday for what will be a very difficult encounter.

U-21

The draw for this year’s U-21 championship was made earlier this month.  Kingscourt face a trip to Mullahoran on Wednesday 25th June with the winner of this playing the winners of Castlerahan and Ballinagh in the Quarter Finals.  Well, there’s nothing like a challenge lads!

JUVENILE

The U-16’s recovered from the recent defeat at Shercock with a 1-13 to 0-13 victory over Killinkere last weekend.  They will seek a third victory out of four on Friday night when they make a visit to Killygarry

The U-14’s marched into the league semi with another comprehensive victory over Laragh Utd in the quarter-finals.  In the semi’s they will face their old foes, Cavan Gaels.  This game is fixed for next Tuesday evening.  Venue is not decided but it will be well worth attending as these battles are rarely dull.

The U-12 lost their final league match but have still made the quarter-finals.  Their opponent’s will be finalised in the coming weeks.

COMMITTEE

The May committe meeting takes place in 9pm in the club pavillion on Friday 9th May.  All members are asked to attend.
