KINGSCOURT STARS GAA CLUB NOTES

SENIORS:

As training continues after the disappointment of the recent championship defeat, focus now turns on the remaining three league matches, which rank as important as the championship, as we seek to remain in Division 1 for 2008.  The Seniors are due play away to fellow strugglers, Drumlane, at the end of the month.  As the players continue to train hard for these matches, a similar effort is required by supporters to make the journey to support the team.  Please check local listings, signs and website for confirmation of date and time of this match

MINORS:

On Monday, the Minors had an impressive victory at home to Trinity Gaels with a

1-10 to 0-6 victory. After an up and down league campaign, this was the kind of performance that this squad were capable of.  Their next outing is in Cootehill at 2.30pm on Saturday 22nd September against Cavan Gaels.  With the Gael’s recent domination in this grade another big performance will be required from both players & supporters alike.

U-14’s

Unfortunately, the U-14’s are out of the championship after suffering a 2-14 to 1-7 defeat away to Gowna on Tuesday last.  After a good league campaign, this was a disappointing outcome for all concerned and marks the end to the official juvenile season, although the locally run John Smith & Peter Connolly Cups will be played out later in the year.
