Weather Upsets Fixtures

Last weekend’s heavy rain has caused chaos with our fixture list. The torrential downpour on Saturday afternoon meant that our home Division 2 Junior Hurling League final against Midleton was called off – no date for this game is available yet. On Sunday the County minor football final Kilbrittain v Kilmacabea also went by the wayside. This postponement has a knock-on affect for Bride Rovers. Some of the Kilmacabea footballers play hurling with St Fachtnas of Roscarberry. As the minor football final has now been refixed for the weekend, our county minor hurling final is gone off – possibly to Saturday November 22nd. That was a possible date for our East Cork ‘B’ Grade Football Final against Carrignavar so all the fixtures are really up in the air.

Under 21 Football Final on Thursday

On this Thursday night we play Fr O’Neills in the East Cork U-21 ‘B’ grade football championship final. Both teams qualified for this final back in early summer but because of other fixtures no date was available ‘til now for the fixture. Having won the minor ‘A’ grade football in East Cork with the last 2 years, Fr O’Neills will be hot favourites to capture this title. Having lost the U-21 hurling final to St Catherines, it would be great for the U-21’s to finish their season strongly. The game is to be played under lights in Rostellan at 8pm.

Club Executive

There is a Club Executive meeting on next Monday night November 17th at 8.30pm in the Clubrooms.

Fixtures

The possibility of playing either the Division 2 J.H.L. final or the J.B. Football Championship final this weekend is being looked at but there is no definite fixture at the time of writing.

Table Quiz

Club Cultural Officer James Bermingham is holding a fund-raising Table Quiz on Friday week November 21st. In the spring of next year James will be travelling to Africa working with the Niall Mellon Foundation and the Table Quiz is to raise funds for this trip. The Table Quiz is being held in the Rathcormac Inn and all support would be greatly appreciated.
