THANKS
The Kilflynn Cancer Support Group would like to thank all those who helped with their fundraising drive during the month of December. The Kilflynn Chronicle was a big success and the group would like to thank all those that contributed articles or photos as well as the local businesses whose sponsorship made the publication possible. The Christmas quiz was again a great social occasion in the village with up to fifty teams participating. The group would like to thank all those who supported us on the night by taking part, all those who helped out and those who generously donated spot prizes for the draw and raffles. Thanks also to the bars and John McElligott for sorting out the wonderful ‘simulcast’ sound system. The painting donated by Linda Graham sold on the night for 1500 euro, and we are very grateful to Linda for donating her wonderful work of art. To date the group has forwarded a total of 8800 euro to four cancer charities. Donations of 2500 euro each were given to the following; The Oncology Unit at Cork University Hospital, Recovery Haven,Tralee and The Kerry Hospice. A sum of 1300 euro was forwarded to Kerry Cancer Support. Some small amounts are still being collected and will be distributed at a later date.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
Kilflynn St. Patrick’s Day Parade meeting will be held on Thursday 24th February in St. Columbas Centre, Kilflynn at 9.00 p.m. All Musicians, Organisations, School Kids Parents are requested to attend this meeting. Due to the success of last years parade it is vital people attend and give their support and a little help in organizing events. All Ideas welcome. Please attend this meeting.

ACTIVE RETIRED

CROTTA MEMBERSHIP
Crotta hurling club membership is now up for renewal for current members. New members always welcome. Membership is as follows: 30 for players, 30 for general members, 15 for students and O.A.P. To join this years membership contact Annette Nolan Secretary/Registrar.

KERRY HURLERS
Congratulations and well done to Kerry hurlers who captured their first brace of points In the Allianz Hurling League Div 2, with a 2-23 to 3-17 victory over Down in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney. At half-time, Kerry led Down 2-16 to 1-5. Kerry’s superb goals came from Aidan Boyle and John Egan. Darragh O’Connell has scored 7 points, 2 from play. Down’s goal came from a penalty converted by Gareth Johnson.
Down outscored Kerry in the second half and goals from Connor Mageean and Scott Nicholson in the last five minutes of the game did not rattle the home team. Darragh O’Connell got 10 of the Kerrry points -three from play and 7 frees. The Kerry spectators really got behind their side in Fitzgerald Stadium and appreciated this fantastic display by the Kerry Hurlers. The Crotta Hurling club was well represented by Andrew Keane at corner back and Shane Nolan at corner forward who scored two points

KERRY BEAT MAYO
A penalty, converted by Bryan Sheehan, gave Kerry a lead they did not lose late into the second half of this game. Played in Castlebar on Sunday, 20 February both teams were level 0-5 each at half time. Great displays especially from the Kerry defence ensured the points went to the Kingdom. Final score Kerry 1-08 to 0-08.

on Friday 11th February 2011.

HURLING COACHING COURSE
A Foundation Hurling coaching course will take place on Friday February 25th in Ballyheighue at 7pm till 9pm. This will be done over three Friday evenings Feb 25th, March 4th and March 11th. The club may hold its own Foundation level course in Kilflynn in April depending on numbers. Let Annette Nolan Senior secretary or Paul O’Donoghue Coiste na nOg secretary know as soon as possible if interested.

CROTTA COISTE NA NOG A.G.M
Crotta Coiste na nOg AGM will take place on Thursday March 10th in St Columbas Centre, Kilflynn at 9.30pm. All welcome.

REFEREES COURSE
A referees course will take place in March. Anyone interested in doing this course please contact Annette or Paul.

COLLEGES WIN
Well done to St Michaels College, Listowel on winning the First Year sheild at the recent seven a side hurling blitz. A number of Crotta underage hurlers play for the College. Congratulations to all especially to Donnacha Brosnan who captained the team and to Jerome O’Sullivan who trained them.

GREAT DARTS WINS FOR SHANE AND SEAN
Congratulations and Well Done to Sean Marshall and Shane Nolan who qualified for The V.F.I National Darts Singles and Doubles Competitions in Bunker’s Bar, Killorglin on Friday night 18th February. Jason Nolan Also acquitted himself well in the Single tournament. The lads qualified at the heats of The V.F.I National Darts competition in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn. And on Sunday 20th February, Sean and Shane captured the Doubles Darts tournament in Healy Rae’s, Kilgarvan. This was the lads fourth time winning the tournament in the last five, there never competed in last year‘s event. Simply magnificent achievement lads. For the record Shane also scored two points for the Kerry Senior hurlers with 2-23 to 3-17 victory over Down in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney In the Allianz Hurling League Div 2.

ALL IRELAND TALENT SHOW

PILATES CLASSES
The Pilates classes have commence in St. Columbus Centre, Kilflynn. on Wednesday and Friday nights. There was no darts doubles tournament on Saturday 19th February due to large crowds who attended the Birthday parties in Parker’s Pub, The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday night 26th February at 10.30 p.m. in Parkers front Bar.
