Club Notes 01 Dec

November 8, 2018

Hard luck to our minor hurlers who had a narrow defeat to Oliver Plunkets in the County Final on Sunday. Our U21 Hulers will have to take to the field again in the Championship Quarter Final against Ballinteer St John’s following a draw on Saturday. Our U9 Hurlers were runners up to Ballyboden in a county blitz on Saturday with Kilmacud Crokes and Na Fianna.

Our Grúpa Ceoil took 1st place for the 2nd year running in the Scór na nÓg Dublin Final and will move on to the Leinster Semi Final on Sun 15th Dec @ 2pm in Parnells Co.Dublin.
The group, Aisling O’Grady on concertina, Cathal Dooley on bodhran, Cian Gaire on guitar, Diarmuid Reynolds on fiddle and Eoghain Reynolds on banjo performed some excellent reels. Also our 8 dancers (Caoimhe Harkin, Aoife Whelan, Sally Nolan, Caoimhe Daly, Danielle Wells, Barbara Mulamucovich, Emma Carroll, Brona Parker) who performed ‘Cor Casta (cross reel)’ very well on the night. Thanks to their parents/mentors/teachers who prepared them for the competition.

Set Dancing classes continue each Wednesday at 8:30 pm in the Clubhouse.

Our nurseries continue each Saturday at 1:30pm on the all weather pitch at our clubhouse grounds at the 12th Lock coached by the Dublin Senior Hurling Captain Johnny McCaffrey. Football and Hurling for boys born in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Football for girls born in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and Camogie for girls aged 6 and over. No need to pre-register. Just show up on the day.

Sunday night’s Lotto was not won with the unlucky numbers 4,5,6,13. This weeks lotto is for a jackpot of €14,000. Hugh McGonigle’s team will be in charge and John Ryan Accountant will be our sponsor. We are looking for volunteers to help on a lotto team. This only requires commitment for one Sunday night every 10 weeks to check lotto tickets. Full training will be given. If interested please contact Mary Flannery on 087 7469143.
