Club Notes - 1 June 2018

November 7, 2018

Recent and Upcoming Games – Three of our teams had a very successful afternoon on Saturday in Sandyford playing against Naomh Olaf. Our under 14 and 16 hurlers continued their good runs and both recorded impressive victories. Not to be outdone in their final league game, the under 14 camogie girls came from 5 points down at halftime to win by 10.

The under 15 boys football team had a fine victory over Raheny during the week in a high scoring and entertaining game. Well done to all concerned.

Congratulations to our very consistent under 15 ladies football team and their mentor Ken Brogan who won their league last week. This is one of the most dedicated groups in the club. Our adult hurlers were back in action on Wednesday night against Clontarf away and won by a point.

Govan Jolliffe-Byrne Memorial Under 13 Football Tournament – The 3rd annual Govan Jolliffe-Byrne U-13 football tournament will take place this Saturday. 16 teams from all over the country will be competing in this unique event, which will commence with the football and culminate with a camping experience for all involved on the night of the tournament on specially designated pitches.

We need helpers for car parking and general supervision duty. All pitches will be in use all day.

Best Wishes – Congratulations to Caitriona Power and her husband Ciarán on the birth of their son Diarmuid.

Club Lotto – There was no winner of the €2,050 Jackpot in last Sunday night’s Club Lotto Draw and as a result the Jackpot increases to €2,200 for the next draw on Sunday 3 June. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 12 and 23. The winners of the three “Lucky Dip” Prizes of €50.00 each were Carol McCarthy, Simon Woods and Aidan Fitzgerald.

The winners of the Special Draw for all Annual and Online Club Lotto Players of two Four Star Irish Hotel breaks were Grainne Murphy and Kieran Conlon. Many thanks to the Diamond Coast Hotel https://www.diamondcoast.ie/ and Kilcullen’s Seaweed Baths https://www.kilcullenseaweedbaths.net/ for their sponsorship of the prizes for the Special Draw.

The chances of winning similar amounts on the Club Lotto are way ahead of those on the National Lotto. For example, the chances of winning the Club Lotto Jackpot are actually better than the chances of winning just €150 on the National Lottery! Tickets can be bought in the Club Bar or online at www.naomhmearnog.ie by clicking on the Club Lotto icon or by clicking on https://www.locallotto.ie/play.asp?Clb=1&LL_ID=518&PC=0
