Senior Team

Silverbridge hosted Ballymacnab at Keeley Park today in excellent conditions. It was Ballymacnab who got on the scoreboard first before an N Traynor free gave Bridge their first score. Ballymacnab went on to score another point before Bridge came back with three points two from frees and one from play Ballymacnab went through a purple patch and scored five unanswered points to Bridges one to leave the half time score 0-7 to 0-5 to the visitors. In The second half Silverbridge upped their performances and scored two fine points to leave the sides level with fifteen minutes to go and all to play for. Silverbridge took the lead and scored three unanswered points to Ballymacnabs one and then a great pass from B Bellew to Maguire to R Griffin who slotted it into the back of the net. Another two points secured a Silverbridge win on a score

line of 1-12 to 0-11. Next weeks match against Clan Eireann check press for details.

B Team

Silverbridge B Team traveled to Ballyhegan on Wednesday night last and after a tough encounter came home with two valuable points. This game was played in good spirits and was well refereed by Sean McClatchey. Our team was short many regulars but the players that took their place played with a lot of pride for their jersey. Best on the night was Conal Quinn, F Smyth in defence whilst Colm Hughes performed well in midfield and Colin Traynor and Brendan Maguire shone up front. Final score Silverbridge 2-12 Ballyhegan 0-12. This B Team play Crossmaglen on Wednesday night and must win to stay in contentions for league honours.

U16

We made the long trip to Annaghmore last week to play Naomh Eion in the all County league played in wet and windy conditions the boys settled well and by half time had a two point advantage. Playing some of the best football all year and with all six of our forwards scoring the lead increased to six with five minutes remaining. But a lack of concentration and some poor officiating give the home team a change to claim two goals and with the game well into injury time they struck over the all important point to give them a 5-9 to 5-8 victory. Although very disappointed the lads will have to pick them selves up for the trip to St Patrick’s next week.

U12 Boys

The U12’S played St Pats at home on Saturday and in a game which they performed below par were well beaten by a very impressive visiting side on the day. The boys tried hard and better day’s lye ahead. Training on Tuesday at 7pm Sharp.
