Minors

On Saturday evening Silverbridge traveled to and excellent Whitecross pitch to take on St Brigid’s in this re-fixture. With very little at stake Silverbridge could afford to experiment in their line up. The deployment of Christopher Reel at full forward certainly paid dividend and by half time had notched up 1-1with points from K Maguire and Brian Hearty leaving the minimum of 1-3 to 0-7 at the break.  Great defensive work by the Hearty brothers,  Brendan Faughey and all the half backs and particularly stand in keeper Harry Thornton, saving two certain goals kept it very tight in the 2nd half. A great opportunist goal by Christopher Rowland, who was running riot at this stage. Nine minutes from time left the minimum between the sides. But St Brigid’s had the final say with a 40 meter free to leave it finishing Silverbridge 2-6 to St Brigids 0-14. A good all round performance and we look forward to to-nights match at home to Mullabawn in the first round of the new division.

U16

The lads ended there championship run with a defeat in the final against Crossmaglen in Newtown. The boys tried there best and give it there all but on the night, Crossmaglens strength and determination saw them through. Training as usual Tuesday night at 7.15.

U14

Silverbridge U14’s performed well against Carrickcruppen at home on Tuesday night, the boys tried hard on the night with some well taken goals from Gary Reel, & Eoin Burns, however some poor passing let the team down on crucial occasions during the match as Carrickcruppen eventually ran out winners,. Team K Quinn, B Garvey, D Duffy, P McKeever, P Heart, C Mullholland, P Reel, C McKeown, P Reel, P Moley, B Murphy, G Reel, A Quinn, C McKinley, E Burns.

U12

Under12 boys were victorious over Mullabawn at home this was a good team performance with every lad playing their part.

U10

After a period of relative inactivity this team had two matches in five days. On Wednesday evening we played Shane O’Neill’s at Keely Park. Perfect conditions led to a good open fast game of football which the ‘bridge youngsters eventually ran out winners. This was especially significant as there were a few new faces making their full debuts in this match. On Sunday we played host to an under strength Mullaghbawn team and again emerged victorious after a sporting encounter. Again it was pleasing to see some of our younger team members performing well in this match. In the absence of further matches this week practice will take place on Thursday at 7 00pm
