Club Notes 11th Jan 2010

Our A.G.M. was held on 3rd Jan in the Community Centre. In his address, outgoing Chairman Seamus Treacy wished to thank everyone involved in the running of the club in 2009. Although it was a disappointing year in terms of silverware he commended all players and mentors who gave of their time to represent the club throughout the year. As he was not seeking re-election, he wished his successor well for the coming year.

 

Club secretary, Peter Murtagh, gave a detailed report on the club’s activities for the year and Joint Treasurers Peter Reilly and Colm Ginty presented the financial report. While the club is in a sound financial state it was noted that the years ahead will present significant challenges to raise the necessary funds to sustain the club’s activities.

On taking over the position of Chairperson, John Reilly paid tribute to Seamus Treacy for the hard work and energy that had seen the club through some of the most successful years in its history. He said that one of his biggest challenges would be to keep the youth of the parish involved in the G.A.A. especially after their school years.

Paul McKeon was voted Player of the Year and The Reilly family, Cornadrung and Nellie Gormley, Pulladoey were voted Club Persons of the Year.

 

There was no winner of the January 3rd Lotto Draw (3,13,16,23) of €2000. Lucky Dip winners were Maura Kiernan, Aughnacliffe, John Gill, Edenmore, Joseph Murtagh, Cunareen and Anita & J.P. Reilly, Smear
