U-14 FEILE

Kingscourt play host to Salthill-Knocknacarra in this coming Feile weekend.  This competition is the culmination of over a year’s work for many club and county people.  Played over one weekend at venues all over the county this is the pinnacle of U-14 football with teams from every county in Ireland as well as further afield.

The action begins in Kingscourt when the Galway champions arrive on Friday afternoon and play Kingscourt at 3pm.  Then on Saturday, Shercock and Kerry champions, Tralee will enter the fray with the remaining round robins match taking place from 9.30am to 1pm.  Then from 3pm in the afternoon the top sides in the country make their way to O’Raghaillaigh Park for the Division 1 Semi Finals.

In between these matches their will be the Skills competions.  A feast of football will be on display and it will be well worth taking in if you can to see the cream of the U-14 footballing talent from all over the county. All finals take place in Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday 6th July.

CLASSIC CLIPS

This week saw the uploading of the first of our classic matchs clips.  It starts with the 1990 County Final victory over Mullahoran and features one of the greatest ever Stars teams. Log onto www.kingscourtstars.ie and click on the Camera link at the bottom left hand corner of the home page. Highlights include some classic action from Jim Reilly and Joe Dillon, one of the slickest goals every seen in Breffni and some interpretation of  “tackling” that’s well eh different!!  Trust me, it’s not to be missed.  To give your suggestion for next months clip, just e-mail us at kingscourt.stars@hotmail.com or leave your comments on the guestbook.

SENIORS

As build up for Senior Championship continues, our next match is Sat 11th July at home to Knockbride in Division 2.  A tough game is guaranteed and it will be a great test in our last match before our championship opener at the end of the July.

JUNIORS

Next Div 4 match is at home to Drumlane on Friday 18th July at 8pm.  Hopes will be high of continuing their recent improved form.

U-21’s

The U-21’s open their championship campaign with a trip to Mullahoran on Wed 2nd July at 8pm.  It’s not exactly the easiest opening tie you could have wished for but hopefully, under the guidance of senior players Alan Clarke and Philly Smith, they may be able to spring a surprise.

MINORS/U-16’s

With the exit of the Cavan Minors at the weekend, the leagues should re-commence shortly.  With the Minors top of the league, and due to face Cavan Gaels, they will need to regain their pre-break form straightaway.  The U-16’s should face Laragh Utd in a play-off to see who makes it to the semi-finals.
