SENIORS

The Seniors were in action over the weekend at home to Drumlane in Division 2.  Following their previous victory away to Cavan Gaels, hopes were high but a spirited Drumlane side tore into Kingscourt from the start and merited more than their 0-3 to 0-2 halftime advantage.  The standard improved in the second half but the visitors retained their lead throughout and only a late, late score from substitute, Philly Smith, grabbed Kingscourt a somewhat fortunate 0-9 to 0-8 victory.

JUNIORS

The Juniors Division 4 match away to Cuchullains was cancelled due to Cavan’s league match against Roscommon (who knows!)  They are next scheduled to play away to Killygarry this coming weekend

MINORS

The Minors made it seven wins on the bounce with a 1-19 to 0-1 victory over Trinity Gaels at home last Wednesday.  A super team performance saw four different players registering at least four points.  In what was their final game before the exam break, this was a superb way to round things of.  Hopefully this form will continue when the remaining league games resume towards the end of June.

JUVENILES

The U-16 season got under way last week with Kingscourt gaining an impressive 2-14 to 0-5 victory at home to Knockbride.  The home side started strongly and led 2-6 to 0-2 at halftime.  They never let up in the second half and continued to play some impressive stuff and while no one will be getting carried away it was a very satisfactory start to the season.

The U-14’s continued their torment of scoreboard operators across the county with a 7-9 to 4-5 victory at home to Castlerahan last week.  This was their third successive victory and in that run they have scored five, six and seven goals respectively.  They will hope to continue this impressive sequence on Tuesday 29th when they visit neighbouring Shercock.

The U-12’s made the trip to Virginia last week but came up against a strong home side and suffered a heavy defeat.  However, there are still two games left, starting with a home tie against Castlerahan this Thursday (24th) and hopefully it will be a case of third time lucky! All U-12 & U-14 games have 6.45pm throw in.
