UNDER 21:
The Beirne Electric sponsored U21 team suffered a narrow defeat to Roscommon Gaels last Saturday in the Hyde Park. Two early Gaels goals in the first half left Elphin playing catch up but they fought back and went in at half time only a point down.
Elphin went a point up after 10 min of the 2nd half. Both teams enjoyed good possession but Roscommon Gaels were the only ones to take advantage on the scoreboard. With 10 min remaining they were 5 points ahead. Elphin rallied with a brilliantly taken goal by Frankie Cregg which was quickly followed by a point leaving a point between the teams. It was a nail biting finish, two minutes into injury time, Elphin went on one final attack only to see it break down and Roscommon gaels broke to score the final point of the evening. Final score Elphin 1-10 Roscommon Gaels 2-09 .
Elphin now play Strokestown next Saturday in Orchard Park at 4.30.

A meeting will be held in Abbeycarton National School on Tuesday 20th of Oct at 7 pm for anyone interested in taking part or helping out with the upcoming Scòr competition. Categories include Acting, Singing ,Traditional music and Question time. Competitors must be Under 17 on the 1st of Jan 2010 to be eligible to take part.
